Two-Day Symposium at Tate Modern
November 6 - 7, 2015
This two-day conference explores the complex and dynamic evolution of the history of women in photography, from early commercial practices, to the impact of World War II on women and their work, to reframing the role of the archive.
On day two of the conference (November 7th), I presented the work of eight women photographers: Nona Faustine, Nakeya Brown, Janna Ireland, Hernease Davis, Delphine Fawundu, Namsa Leuba, Orianne Lopes and Liliana Angulo Cortes.
You can now watch the video of my presentation on the Tate Modern website. All conference presentations will also be published as papers in two special editions of the Journal of Photography and Culture (Taylor & Francis) in 2017 and 2018.
